Options -
1. Start your own post instead of hijacking a 2006 thread with symptoms
similar to your own problems. Please also state your OS including SP level
and if appropriate whether you're updated to IE8.
2. Perhaps this is relevant (if appropriate ignore the title) - Updates are
not installed successfully from Windows Update, from Microsoft Update, or by
using Automatic Updates after you perform a new Windows XP installation or
you repair a Windows XP installation
