Windows Update - Error code 8000FFFF

Windows Vista K929777. I am getting a message the update cannot be done
because a file is open. I have no files open. The update is cancelled, but
I keep getting the update every day.

What update?

Try downloading it manually and then reboot to Safe Mode to install it:
