I have Vista (SP1)
I had installed Nero ver. 8.3.6.0_eng_update, just before the
KB954430 update. Since then, I got the update message.
My solution has been to delete the file " msxm14.dll " it is a
Service Pack 2 file, not used by Service Pack 1. The Nero program
installed it to.
c:\Windows\system32\msxml4.dll There were three variations
msxml4.dll / msxml4a.dll / msxml4r.dll I deleted them all.
After I had deleted the files the first time I had trouble with my
Nero... I reinstalled the Nero... and WhaaaLa.. it started again. So
this morning, I again deleted the file again and it has stopped
wanting to update again.
I can live with the message from Nero... It only pops up when I use it
and I click and its gone, has not changed the way I use ability of the
Nero program.
This was MY solution... It worked for me. I don't know if there will
be any problems after this, but it is sure better than my computer
trying to update several times a day and every time I shut down.
