Re: Windows update just keeps "Checking for latest updates"

BE PATIENT..GIVE IT UP TO 2 MINUTES TO DO ITS THING...

1) Stop Automatic updates service
Click start menu-->run-->type services.msc -->hit enter
find the Automatic updates services, right click.. STOP SERVICE.
2)
okay now rename
C:\windows\SoftwareDistribution
to c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution_

3)
find the Automatic updates services, right click.. Start Service.

4) open internet explorer
-->click tools menu then-->Windows Update.. Click custom/express..and
update.
