Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knew of a good resource that details a "best
practice" for the manual patching of Windows servers.
I work for a health corporation, and have noticed after doing several
audits over the past weeks that the Auto Updates applet is typically
turned off, yet the Automatic Updates service is still On and set to
Automatic.
We patch our servers manually after extensive testing (unless Microsoft
drops a rush job on us like last month). In my mind, leaving the
Updates service running is an invitation for disaster should an
inadvertent change to a GPO take place.
Any resources/sites/white papers you may have would be of great help.
Thanks.
