Microsoft update with Windows Live Onecare

My computer shows that it has last updated from microsoft on Dec 18th 2008.
It shows that it checked for updated just 2 min ago. it also shows that it is
up to date with no errors or warnings. In Windows update it seems to be fine.
My Windows Live Onecare states that the status is fair because the PC is
missing updates from Windows Update. When I try to check from windows live
oncare or manually check either way I get the same result, it tells me there
are no new updates, but i know there must be. What can I do? Please help?
