help please

i have a windows ME but whenever i try and download something an error popps
up saying that I need a windows 2000 or newer. But this is a windows 2000.
any suggestions on what i can do?

Wait...

You first state that you have "Windows ME" and then state you hav Windows
2000?
Which is it?

If you are thinking that Windows ME falls in the category of "Windows 2000
or greater", you would be incorrect. Windows ME is the last of the Windows
9x line (Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98SE, Windows ME...) - Windows 2000
is part of the Windows NT Family (Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP,
Windows Vista.)

In other words - the requirement for Windows 2000 or greater is telling you
that you need "Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows Vista in order to
install/run said application."

How can it be Windows 2000 when you state you have Windows ME?

Windows ME IS NOT Windows 2000, they are 2 entirely different operating
systems.

You state you have Windows ME and then state you have Windows 2000.

Either way, it shouldn't affect the download, but it would certainly affect
installation. If what you're downloading and installing requires Windows
2000 or greater, then that's it.

Now, is there anything we can help you with regarding Windows Update
issues?????
