Re: Blue Screen crash of XP after Windows Updates
Hi,
It looks to me like you need to do the 'chkdsk' command on the boot
drive. I do not have a Dell CD so I can't give you step by step
instructions; however, these are the steps you need to do.
1. Boot the Dell CD
2. Follow the prompts until you see an option for 'Recovery Console' -
select it.
3. Once the prompt appears type 'chkdsk c:' (without the single quotes)
4. Remove the CD, then exit the 'Recovery Console'
5. Try to boot as normal.
If you do not get a 'Recovery Console' option then that means the Dell
CD you are using is not compatible with the OS installed (I have seen
this happen on other computers).
Hope this helps,
CEF
