I've been trying to install the following update:
Update for Access 2002 (KB904018)
I was getting the following error:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: MsiInstaller
Event Category: None

that you have sufficient permissions to update it.

This is not the first Office update to fail. It seems to hinge on
permissions either with the file or with the installer. In this case I
renamed the file and reran the update. This time it succeeded. When I
compared the permissions on the original file and the one installed by the
Update, the permissions are IDENTICAL.
So my question is what else could be wrong with the capabilities of the
installer or the files that would prevent the update from succeeding? I
really need to know this because it's likely further updates will be coming
and I'd like to avoid these issues in the future.
