Code 80070422

Whenever I try to search for new updates I get the message "Windows Update
encountered an unknown error. No troubleshooting has helped me thus far.
Please help!

future reference.

Yeah. That's treating the whole 32-bit binary number as a signed
doubleword. I have observed that for codes in the 0x8007xxxx
range you can guess that the xxxx is the value of a net helpmsg.
So, that's why I usually comment on them like this:

The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.

But in this case because of the prevalence of 1058 errors being associated
with suspected hijackings I was just mentioning that decimal value. ; )
