Error number: 0x80070715

Ok, to start with I know I have some kind of crazy virus on my computer,
(Virtumonde/Smitguard-C/zlob) but I have managed to minimize the affects and
live with it for the last couple months. Discovered them with Spybot. My
friends think its ironic I got a virus because I'm so protective of my system.

Windows XP Home/ SP2/ Dell/ Pentium 4

I realized that I had not received any updates for awhile. And actually I
just fixed a friends computer using recovery console and was surprised that
SP3 was out and that my update didn't tell me.

My automatic updates are turned on, but I get the error message everytime I
try to access the page.

I did the start/run: %windir%\windowsupdate.log

I was stunned to see that my log goes all the way back to 9/16/08, which is
about when my computer starting going crazy.

On 9/16 there are about 78 lines of data. And on today 12/21 there are about
185 lines of data. Here are some:

When searching for available updates on the Update site, you receive the
0x80248011 error.

The 0x80248011 error code may occur when there is an issue with the database
that stores Windows Update information or Microsoft Update information on
your computer.

Can occur due to corruption in the Datªstore folder or problems in the
Internet cªche


Run both tools

A very good antimalware app is SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes
Anti-Malware.
The Home Edition is free

There is a free version (on demand scanning only), the paid for version
includes active monitoring, similar to Windows defender:
