Error Code 80244019

I'm on Vista and get this error code as well...pls give me a fix.

Maybe a Trojan.
It seems possible that your Windows installation has been deliberately
damaged by a trojan (Vundo, along any uninvited guests. (SDBot and ZLOB, all
protected by a rootkit.)) so as to prevent you updating your system or
removing the trojan.

A very good antimalware app is SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes
Anti-Malware.

There is a free version (on demand scanning only), the paid for version
includes active monitoring, similar to Windows defender:

Hi,

I tried to diagnose the problem and finally i foundout Rootkit virus (not
detected by norton antivirus 2008 with full update). Finally i have
installed Superantispyware and checked the complete system. It found out the
Virus, deleted automatically and restart the machine.


I can able to run Windows Update after that successfully. I personally
thanks to Engel to given accurate solutions for this problem.

Hi,

I am having the same problem for the longest time. I attempted to install
the antimalware from both sites that you've recommended (superantispyware,
malwarebytes), but the farthest I get to is clicking the install
button...when i click it, the error "IE cannot display the webpage" happens,
but I try going to another site (yahoo) and the page loads, which means there
are no problem with my internet connection, right?

If it may help, whenever I try to download updates, two errors are displayed:
80244019 and 80072EFD.

I have Windows Vista Home Basic and has AVG Antivirus...

Please, I desperately need your help.

BTW, does this problem also affect the definition updates for Windos
Defender? I've been having problems in that area, too...

Hope you can spare time to help me. Thanks so much in advance.

Not with that site but not necessarily with the site that
you are having trouble accessing. ; )

I have been getting the same error and have treid several suggestions on here
and from Microsofts website. I am running Window Vista Premium with system
firewall and Norton 360 Here is the error message we have been getting, I
did run defender and all is well but I cannot download any update nor any MSN

Is equivalent to an HTTP 404. So I suspect that Vista shouldn't be
trying to download that file. My Vista partition is in a very sad state
at the moment but it looks as if the URL could be:

You need help from someone who knows Vista.
I don't know why it would be trying to download
with that old URL you are showing.
