error code 80244019

everytime i try to update using windows update i get this cose and the
message windows could not search for updates. the same thing when i try to
update from defender, how do i fix this everything worked fine till start of
december which was my last update and now i cant update anything, ANY help
would be great, as i dont have installation disks cant reinstall they didnt
come with my hp pavillion laptop..

You cannot download updates when you access the Windows Update Web site from
a Windows XP-based computer that is behind a firewall or a proxy server
