service pack 2 causing functionality problems

Updated SP2 onto xp as required for me to install norton 360 and Itunes8.
After installation I lose printer skype etc. Problem seems to be with
services, I can go into services and manually start print spooler for
example but after reboot the service shows as stopped. Skype prob seems to
be no recording device. Taskbar doesn't seem to work properly - no icons
rest on taskbar when reduced. I also can't run windows update, this advises
to change internet options - user data enable - which makes no difference.

Lots of probs with SP2 but I need it for Norton360 and Itunes8 pls help

WinXP SP2 was released over four (4) years ago and you're just now getting
around to installing it?

1. Uninstall SP2 via Add/Remove Programs and reboot.

2. Run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, including posting your hijackthis
log to an appropriate forum.

When all else fails, HijackThis v2.0.2
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.exe) is the preferred tool to use (in
conjunction with some other utilities). HijackThis will NOT fix anything on
its own, but it will help you to both identify and remove any
hijackware/spyware with assistance from an expert. **Post your log to

by an expert in such matters, not here.**

3. Do not install SP2 or SP3 until an expert gives your HijackThis log a
