Error code 8024001B

Updates are not installing automatically. I kept getting error code 80073712.
Did a search on this site, and tried to fix following suggestions by Clem
Cadiddle Hopper's entry. Now, I can't get any updates, and I keep getting
error code 8024001B. Can anybody help me....

See the information in this MS Knowledge Base! article,

"Windows Features" dialog box is empty in Windows Vista, or you receive an
error message that includes the following code when you try to use Windows
Update: "0x80073712"

0x8024001B WU_E_SELFUPDATE_IN_PROGRESS The operation could not be performed
because the Windows Update Agent is self-updating.
I'd recommend trying Resolution Method 2 in this KB article (ignore the
title, if need be) to resolve that error:

Windows Update error 8024001b

Usually indicates that Windows Update itself is being updated and/or
installed. This could take several minutes - suggest you try installing
updates later.

If you receive Windows Update error 8024001b while trying to install
updates, an update for Windows Update itself is being installed. Depending
on how many programs are currently running and which operating system files
or folders are affected while this update is being installed, it might take
several minutes before you can install other updates for your computer. Try
installing updates again later.

If the problem persists after you try installing updates later, go to the
Windows Update Support Center (
