XP SP3 failure

error message 0x8007007B and falls over trying to instal XPSP1RES.dll then
cannot copy file for deletion on roll back. Any clues as to getting round
this?

Someone told me that going from SP1 to SP3 can be finicky. Try going to SP2
first and then SP3.

Try doing a clean boot first [disable all non-MS services, disable ALL
applications that load at startup].
