Lost Right-to-Left Capability for Foreign Language after Update

Can anyone tell me what I have to change to get back the right-to-left
function for my Arabic fonts? It was working fine until after I installed
some updates on my computer. Afterwards, I have only left-to-right
capability when I am writing. When I switch to Arabic, I still have the
left-to-right but with Arabic.

How do I prevent this loss in the future, too?
