XP SP3 manual updates

Is there any way to copy update files from my machine to my wife's
machine, so that I don't have to download the updates twice?

Both machines are XP Pro, SP3... I've tried to copy the files from my
C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download directory to hers, but no luck.

I'm on dial up, so if I don't have to download 5Mb updates twice, that'd
be great...

No. You must have the install file.
