problem with messanger

Well i am having this problem with messenger. Every time i click on sobody to
talk to i get message that says " Windows Live Messenger has stopped working
... A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close
the program and notify you if a solution is available" and i don't know what
to do to fix it if you can help me please e mail me on fnevres@hotmail.com

And the Windows Update question is?
Try the microsoft.public.windows.live.messenger newsgroup instead.
