Upgrading to Windows XP SP1

I'm trying to install the Windows XP SP2 and I get an error message every
time I try. Has anyone had this problem before?

It's not easy to answer without details and complete error messages. It's
akin to me asking you the following "My car is making a noise, what's wrong
with it?"

specifically say what the problem is.
