Internet Explorer 6.0 and Office 2007 Compatibility

Our agency uses an online database that will only run on Explorer 6.0. For
some reason, when they download the compatibiltiy pack for office 2007, they
are being automatically upgraded to explorer 7.0. Does anyone know how to
stop this?

NB: IE7 requires acceptance of the EULA before it will install. If the user
doesn't accept the EULA, IE7 will not install.

If the Office Compatibility Pack and IE7 is being offered via Automatic
Updates (AU), you can reconfigure AU to the "Notify Only" setting. After
doing so, the user can decline the install of IE7 (and any other updates).

If you're dealing with a large number of machines, you can block the install
of IE7: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/u.../bb259685.aspx

If IE7 is already installed, it can be uninstalled via Add/Remove Programs
(which will automatically return the WinXP machine to IE6).

Having installed the Compatibility pack numerous times, it does not
automatically install IE7.
