computer shuts down

my computer is acting up, screens freeze and I have to go to cntrl alt delete
to get out of the area I AM IN. sometimes the page I am looking at melts off
the screen,
so I try to run a spy program that has allways worked great and it will get
so far as checking the registry and than shuts the computer down and restarts
itself,
I am thinking that there is someone else on my computer that has some kind
of new crap that instead of being discovered is shutting down my computer
when threatened.
please help..

Please tell us what your unfortunate problem has to do with Windows Update.
