Issue Audio Driver

Long story short:

My computer was slammed with a virus a month ago, and finally have it
running again, XP style. However my sound won't work. Going to the Drivers
setting, it turns out that IDT High Definition Audio CODEC has been flagged
"This device cannot work" (Code 10)
After running "update driver" and the troubleshooter there is still nothing.
And since it took forever and a half to get internet running on my computer,
my patience has run very thin.
So if anyone has any suggestions I am open to them.

Now that you have XP hobbling, back up and do a clean install.
