IE 6.0 SP 3 installed OS XP Pro Cant download files

after installing SP 3 (last night), I can no longer download any files
(pdf/office/programs) etc. when i click on download, it goes thru the
download process, but when it finishes "downloading", IE immediately closes.
Please help! Im not too computer savy, but any suggestions will help..thanks

Windows XP, but only for Service Pack 3 (SP3), until 14 Apr-09. Chat and
e-mail support is available only in the United States and Canada. Go to
