Windows messenger

In out office we have all been having issues with Windows Messenger over the
past two days. Is anyone else having issues? None of us can even sign-in.
We get Error code:81000306 with a message stating "make sure we are connected
to the Internet" which obviously we are. Are there maybe some updates that
we need?

Aside from the fact that this has nothing to do with Windows Updates - yes.
Messenger has had problems.
