error 0x8DDD0004

I am getting the error for the past couple months when I try to visit windows
update.

It takes a few minutes of sitting there before the error page pops up. I
have tried their suggestions, with no luck, anyone ahve ideas?

Error that you see in the upper-right corner when you visit the Windows
Update Web site on a Windows XP-based computer: "[Error number: 0x8DDD0004]"

Error message when you scan for updates on a Windows XP Service Pack
2-based computer: "Error number: 0x8DDD0004"

So, is this XP and what Service Pack level is it now at ?
What is the installed antivirus/security suite ?

Once more ... did the error page show the links to the 2 MSKBs as the
ones included in my previous post or did it have the same steps as the 2
MSKB articles ? Though both refer to SP2 they also apply to SP3.
