Updates keep appearing

Since mid June I have had 2 and then from mid August 3 updates that will
"install" and then the next time I start up the windows update program pops
up informing me that I have new updates. What can I do to either install them
properly (preferred) or to stop the notifications?

The Updates are as follows:

KB954038
KB934391
KB934395

I put the cd and ran the updates but to no avail; they returned then next
time I restarted along with2 new ones that were released yesterday. (KB951944
and KB954326)

Am I supposed to do anything with the CD other then put it in the drive?

Assuming you inserted the disc into the correct drive bay, see if you can
download/install them manually. See Method 3 here:
