Windows XP Service Pack 3

I've spent the majority of my holiday trying to install this. Even when I
turn off the firewall, it still will not install. Rather, I get a message
that XP may not run properly.

Kindly give me complete instructions as to how to install this. I do not
like turning off the firewall, as you might understand.
