Update installation of XP SP3

When updating and installing SP3 the update fails with the error message -
Installation Failure. Error Code: 0x8007F01E.
It seems to relate to the catalog?
Any solutions?

Are you getting this error when attempting to install WinXP SP3 or is WinXP
SP3 already installed and you're getting this error when attempting to
install other updates?

Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from Microsoft
Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you perform a new Windows XP
installation or you repair a Windows XP installation

NB: Ignore the titles, if necessary; also applies to Upgrade installs, and
Recovery installs.
