Security update for microsoft office powerpoint viewer 2003 (KB949

Update failed showing Error code 0x4397 Tried 3 times same error

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Powerpoint Viewer?
Perhaps try the full update:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Usually the updates fail for viewer files because it can't find the source.

Just a guess.

Hi,

just for the record, but I am experiencing exactly the same error (0x4397)
when trying to install update KB949041 from Microsoft Update; also tried it
several times.
Reinstalling PowerPoint2003 Viewer does not help.
Also applying installation of the full update
(office2003-kb949041-fullfile-x86-en-us.exe) fails with the message "The
installation of package failed".
Any suggestions?

I have a similar issue, and I've opened up a support incident from the site
given.

I am experiencing the same probelm with the same error code.
I have tried to install the upadate at least 10 times.
I gone to the cotnrol panel and to add/remove programs and deleted the
failed updates and this does not solve the probelm either.
