service pack 2 won't download!

what the heck is meant by this message;

service pack 2 could not back up registry key HKCR\DirectPlay8NATResolver to
file c:\WINDOWS\$NtServicePackUninstall$\reg00192. 5:Access is denied.

can anyone direct me to a solution? I'm getting nowhere with tech support or
anything else. Please help!

I suppose we should assume SP2 for Windows XP.
(Albeit strange that anyone would bother installing SP2 with SP3 released.)

- What operating system are you running?
- What service pack 2 are you attempting to install?

Let's go ahead and make those assumptions for you - just take the WAGs and
give you some advice. Sure - it might waste some of your time - but just by
guessing, it is just exchanging one waste for another, eh? ;-)

(I suggest Method 3... Likely would fix your Service Pack 2 issues as well.)
