Silverlight udate

Good morning folks,

I hope I don't sound like a total rock head here but for the last few days
since it has come out I have been trying to install the Silverlight update
KB955011 and it just does nothing. It says that it is installing but I have
left it for significant periods of time and come back and it is still
spinning it's wheels. No errror message - no nothing. It just does not
install.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

You do not sound stupid at all. It is doing the exact same thing for me...
it says when finished: The following updates were not installed: Critical
Update for Microsoft Silverlight 2 (KB955011) .

Looks like you and I are the only 2 people with this issue, due to the
overwhelming responses to your question.

Let's hope someone chomes in with an answer,

According to the KB article, this update is for Silverlight 2 Beta, so it could
be a beta test issue.

On the other hand, I also can't reach the Silverlight web site, so maybe
something's up with Silverlight in general.

It says on: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/955011 ...... "This update is
included in current Silverlight installers." .....
SO, I MANUALLY saved the Silverlight 2 Beta 2 from this website:
http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight...all.aspx?v=2.0

I RIGHT MOUSE clicked on the link that says:
"Silverlight 2 Beta 2 GDR 1 (2.0.30523.8)"
and selected "Save Target As" , and manually copied it to my hard drive.

When it finished downloading, I clicked "Run" and it no longer states that I
need this update.
