All updates failed to install (XP Home SP3)

Hi all.

I tried to run windows update and it found 10 updates from the last few
days, so I selected them all and downloaded them all successfully but
they all fail to install and when I click on the report of "Failed: 10"
in red, nothing happens.

I have also had in the last 24 hours my PC go to the blue screen of
death. I knew printscreen wouldn't work so I took a photo, instead of
writing it all down:

Where do the files get saved to, when windows update downloads them? I
could try deleting them and downloading them again.

I am using XP Home SP2, but I installed SP3 a few days ago from Windows
update, which I suspect is the culprit here.

I have 33 GB of space on the system drive free, so it's not that.

I really appreciate any help, thanks guys.

OK. Sorry. I didn't see the other similar request below mine. I read it
and tried this and all is well now.

Thanks anyway.

As many will tell you - ignore the title and symptoms listed in the article
referred to. Do method 1 and 2 and see if it fixes your issue whether or
not you repaired anything.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943144
Try method 1 and try to update*.
If fails - try method 2 and try to update*.

*try to update:
- Visit http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/
- If it asks you to install anything before you see a selection of "Custom"
or "Express" - do so.
- Once you see the "Custom" or "Express" selection, choose "Custom".
- Scan for updates.
- When it lists what it finds - install the critical ones.
- You are generally safe doing the Optional Software Updates. I suggest
avoiding the Optional Hardware Updates completely.
