Vista Windows Update error code 8024402c

Whenever I try and access updates in windows update it checks for updates
which takes a couple of minutes then displays a message showing

Windows could not check for new updates
Error(s) found:
Code 8024402c

Does anybody know a solution to fix this problem

Windows version?

You may receive a "0x8024402C" error message when you scan for updates on
the Windows
