Vista SP1 fails

I try to download service pack 1 for Vista but the installation fails and the
error code 80073712 shows up. Does anyone know what is this error?

To Resolve this error try the following steps :
A- Try steps of KB931712

The "Windows Features" dialog box is empty in Windows Vista, or you receive
an error message that includes the following code when you try to use
Windows Update: "0x80073712"

if that does not work
B- Delete pending.xml from C:\windows\winsxs
to do please follow the steps below :
a- Open Command Prompt with elevation
b- Type in takeown /f C:\Windows\winsxs\pending.xml
c- to take ownership of the file Type in cacls C:\Windows\winsxs\pending.xml
/G :F
c- Type in del C:\Windows\winsxs\pending.xml
d- reinstall Windows update agent with /wuforce parameter
you can download the windows update agent from :
http://download.windowsupdate.com/v7...Agent30-86.exe
e-Try Windows Update

I have the same problem and there appears to be no help from Microsoft.
Please tell me what you are doing now. How can we solve this problem?
