automatic update

hello! i can't start my automatic update. whent to previous post, followed
the instructions but when i click on start service, it automaticaly switches
back from automatic to disabled. after a couple of tries i get the same error
message as in that previous post "error 1058 saying Could Not start the
Automatic Updates service on Local Computer. The service cannot be started,
either because its disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated
with it." where do i go from here?

You cannot manually start the Automatic Updates service and you receive an
"Error 1058" error message on a computer that is running Windows XP or
Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005:
