Update today (06/11/2008) disabled my print spooler

After I installed Windows updates this afternoon, I discovered I had no
installed printers. (There was a printer installed prior to running the
update.) When I try to install a printer, I get the following: Operation
could not be completed. The print spooler service is not running. I checked
the installed services, and found that the print spooler was marked as
stopped with vendor unknown. I cannot get the spooler out of the stopped
status.

I have the same problem on 6 computers in my office running XP professional,
I cannot seem to get help, doen anyone know what to do?
