Update not installing

I had reformated and reinstall Windows XP.
Updated but am currently not able in install the following:

Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 7 for Windows XP (KB947864)
Microsoft .NET Framework version 1.1
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0: x86 (KB829019)
Windows Media Player 11
Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 7 for Windows XP (KB947864)
Microsoft Silverlight 1.0 (KB951213)
Root Certificates Update

All downloaded with no problems but were not installed.
I had tried installing one by one but still not able to.

Includes reinstall etc - Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from
Microsoft Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you repair a Windows XP installation

Jodarl,

I am ready to cut my wrists. Did exactly what you did and now have problems
with installing updates. Error code 0x800FODA. Where does one go for help.
Was your problem sorted out in any way.
