Scan the system for the presence of malware:

Tutorial for Kapersky Online Scanner

Kaspersky Online Scanner

IF malware is present, save the report according to the tutorial. Then
seek assistance at a reputable anti-malware forum.
* Please read the guidelines * of the forum of your choice prior to posting:

http://spywarewarrior.com/viewforum.php?f=5

* When the system has been deemed clean *, download, and save this tool:
http://www.codeplex.com/aureset/Rele...eleaseId=13656

Prior to running it, close all open browsers and programs.
Reboot afterwards and then see if the system updates successfully.

If not, START a new thread in this forum, please.
