RE: Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool (KB892130) FAILED INSTAL

I'm having the very same issue as of today. Unfortunately for me I've just
wiped my drive and am in the process of trying to reboot everything. I'm
getting those same error messages and cannot download anything from the
microsoft site.

Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from Microsoft
Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you repair a Windows XP
installation:

NB: Also applies to clean installs, upgrade installs, and Recovery installs.
