Windows update error code 8024402c

Does anybody have any ideas on this error code? I've done EVERYTHING!!! It
still doesn't work!! Please someone help me.

Seriously. I really need help. Do you have any ideas? please, I really need
to update my computer.

What Windows version and service pack level?

What sort of update are you trying to do?

What goes wrong?

You have told us nothing but expect help, you won't even tell us what OS
you're using. All you have said is you've tried everything, what can we do.
We have no information about what you've tried, we don't even know what your
OS is? Are we suppose to guess all this? I'll assume that you've tried all of
what I've posted below that is relevant to your mystery OS system.

error

A misconfigured Proxy/Firewall can cause this problem. Double-check the
Proxy/Firewall settings

I have the same problem - Windows update process cannot complete, receive Error Code 8024402c.

I am running Windows Vista Ultimate (64)SP1, as well as McAfee. I've also confirmed that in IE the automatically detecting LAN settings box is checked.

Any suggestions?
