re KB842773

unable to find install on computer says has been downloaded and due to using
system restore on computer now am unable to find and is causing windows
update to keep downloading but will not install again. says failed. Any help
will be appreciated.

Is KB842773 showing as being installed in Add/Remove Programs in the
Control Panel ? [ Windows XP Hotfix - KB842773 ]
If it is, click the Remove button to uninstall it.

Download it from here and *save* it:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en
[ Click the Continue button to Validate the system.
IF there's a Validation issue, stop right here and post back. ]

Once the download completes, close the browser and any other open programs.
*** Disconnect the system from it's network or internet connection ***
*Completely* disable the installed antivirus software for now.
Please consult the Help file of the AV or the manufactuer's web site for
instructions on how to do so *before* you disconnect the system.

Now install WindowsXP-KB842773-v2-x86-enu.exe and restart the system.
No matter if it installs or not *** remember to reenable the installed
AV prior to reconnecting the system ***
