I neither said or implied any of the above, I simply posted references for
your consideration. Please note that we're all volunteers here, including
MS MVPs.

Some, I'm sure, wouldn't argue with your second comment (cf.
http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/m...ves/136739.asp). As for
your first comment, some Vista machines will not be offered SP1 until the
Windows Update detection engine determines that the machine meets all
hardware (and third-party software?) requirements (cf.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/948343). That fact that most machines are
being offered and have successfully installed Vista is of no comfort to you
and others in your situation, I'm sure.

Certainly, but few of these users will bother to post to this or other MS
newsgroups to say, "SP1 installed without a lick of problems!"
> Does anyone have Vista SP1 installed? If so, how did they get it?
See above.

I have no idea. Consider asking in a Vista-specific newsgroup [1]. I would
not assume that SP1 will resolve hardware or third-party software problems,
Bob.

Your best bet would be the unlimited installation and compatibility support
I referenced in my previous reply.

YW, Bob.
