Yeah! .NET2.0 sp1 (kb110806) resolved
First, I'd to thank the MS MVP's for all of their responses for this
apparently widespread problem.
Just by switching my firewall to MS and shutting off my spyware/virus scan,
(TrendMicro), and then tried the kb110806 install again. Yeah! Success with
Plan A, which makes me VERY happy! A nice simple fix, at least for me. Am so
glad that I didn't have to follow the KB instructions for the installer
reset, uninstall/reinstall .NET, etc, (a rather involved process, (at least
to me), and yes, also prone for error's by me!).
May the future .NET updates be just as easy for us to resolve as this was
and also hope this fix works for others...
