Sound device

I keep getting this message. Everything was fine but then I started getting
it.
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with
your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your
computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be
functioning properly." I made a mistake and removed the sound device trying
to resome unused items. I tried to restore it in recycle bin however it did
not work.

Can anyone help?

If you just removed it with the Device Mgr just shutdown and restart. It
will be reinstalled or a new update of it. If you uninstalled the whole
program you'll have to reinstall the program manually. See if it is listed
in Device Mgr under Sound. If it is, you'll have the option to reactivate
