Error 0X8007043B

I recently upgraded to XP Pro, and am trying to perform updates, and receive
this error. I tried doing everything Microsoft help has suggested, and it
has not worked. Only thing I am not sure of is if I added BITS and WUAUSERV
correctly. I added it on the left side of the page, not the right. So it
basically looks like an empty folder now.

MY computer says I have SP2 already, and I have even tried reinstalling XP
again.

For some reason I also don't have Internet Explorer, although I can get to
it by clicking on Windows Update.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

-2147023813 ERROR_SERVICE_NOT_IN_EXE The executable program that this
service is configured to run does not implement the service. netsvcs registry
value in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\S vchost registry
key should contain the service names that can be run in that service host. On
XP and Windows 2003, BITS should be in this value. If “BITS� is missing from
that value, then ERROR_SERVICE_NOT_IN_EXE error is seen when attempting to
start the service


When searching for available updates on the Update site, you see the
0x8007043B error
