Since Vista SP1 was released, Windows update has been broken.

Also, prior to SP1 the windows update site accepted my Product ID which came
with a new PC that has the correct media protection printed on the CD etc.

Now Windows update rejects my attempts to update, and when I try to log a
call and provide my ID it informs me that my ID is invalid.
