I have also tried downloading and installing this several times, completely
without success!
I get the same error message as Flodo and others, even after manually
re-installing .NET 1.1 and .NET 1.1 SP1 and so forth.
This worked on one of my XP Pro systems with a different motherboard (an
Asus), but it has never worked for this system's mobo (an Intel DG33TL).
Note that this system is brand new and I only installed XP Pro SP2 two days
ago. All other Windows Updates downloaded and installed correctly. Also,
there are not many installed apps, so the fault clearly lies with Microsoft.
I should also point out that I got the same error message when I tried it in
Safe Mode.
