Error Code: 0x80070663

I cannot update Office 2007 to SP1. I have already uninstalled and
reinstalled several times. Likewise, I've followed KB913754 to no avail.
Microsoft Support personnel are completely worthless - I've spent hours
piddling around with them only to be told they can not find the problem and
will mark it unresolved. This is a clean install of Office 2007 on a cleanly
installed XP machine, with all updates and service packs. Any ideas?

You receive an error message when you try to install the 2007 Microsoft
Office suite Service Pack 1

If the error really was 0x80070663, not 0x80070643, try the fix anyway.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have already installed that update (so I ran
it again and was told that it was already installed). Any other ideas?

I have the same problem and have tried every step found on the newsgroups and
forums without a resolution to the problem.
