install updates on turn off - how to edit / cancel updates

XP Pro SP2 – recent reload.

Due to past problems with automatic updates I normally have it set to
“notify me but do not down load or install�

For some reason when “turn off computer� is instigated I have the normal
standby, turn off and cancel buttons - the turn off has “click to install
important updates and turn off computer�.

How can I either delete or view and edit the actual updates that it is
trying to install?

What updates did you recently approve to be downloaded and installed?

Did you just go from Windows Update to Microsoft Update as your default
update source?

Did you just install OneCare?

Did you just install an "internet security" suite (e.g., McAfee; Norton)?

Is the Notify Only option still enabled in Automatic Updates?
